Head of Programmes Advanced Optronics

This role will lead, manage and develop a team of Programme Management professionals, responsible for multiple projects from bid development through to production readiness, ensuring that the projects achieve the agreed deliverables, on time and to cost.

The main duties with this position will be to:
. Lead the Programme Management Team (manage attendance, annual reviews, performance metrics)
. Develop and Train Programme Management team
. Programme Management (50%)
. Deputise for the Program Director
. Maintains the programs dashboard
. Defines and develops tools and processes for program management and reviews
. Allocates tasks in line with the business need
It is essential that all candidates have the following:
. Educated to degree level, with an engineering or scientific bias - providing the ability to have a technically credible dialog with the engineering and production teams.
. Experience of delivering complex technically challenging programmes
. A high standard of general education, and conversant with Microsoft office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
. Confidence, professionalism with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to represent our company at all levels and within international cultures.
. High motivation, responsiveness and focus, also possess meticulous attention to detail - crucial for ensuring programme requirements are fully understood and met.
. Exposure and/or experience of military or commercial Avionic systems, Optronic systems and associated technologies.
. Confidence and credibility to influence business performance
. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, AS9100 and associated quality standards
. Bid and programme management skills within an engineering or manufacturing process environment.
. Managing customers, suppliers and internal business project teams to deliver quality & timely results.
The following attributes are considered desirable, but not essential for the role:
. Experience of working with MRP / ERP applications and associated software
. Prince II or equivalent program management qualification
. Membership of a recognised programme management body
