We have a new opportunity in the Operations Department for a Temporary Production Planner for 6 months. Main responsibilities for this role will include:
. Schedule orders from customers to meet their requests and in consideration of available production & engineering capacity and materials.
. Plan and organise manufacturing to ensure that products are delivered on time.
. Give excellent customer service by scheduling orders promptly, and working flexibly to customer requests, enquiries & changes in delivery requirements.
. Use Materials Requirement Planning system to construct weekly schedules for each manufacturing location.
. Determine available capacity of manufacturing locations by analysis of production load, build rates and staff availability. Use capacity planning tools to support customer order scheduling and identify resource requirements.
. Coordinate with Engineering/NPI Team with regard to new product and engineering works orders and scheduling.
. Coordinate with Supply Chain on anticipated material shortages and ensure internal suppliers maintain continuity of supply.
. Produce weekly shipment list and communicate with Customer Service & Finance teams.
. Monitor and compile data to determine output versus targets for manufacturing locations.
. Produce weekly KPI & monthly Group reports and contribute to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing preventative & corrective measures
In terms of what we are looking for, the ideal candidate should have good experience of working in a similar role. The ideal applicant will have:
. Experience of working within a manufacturing company
. Knowledge of using an MRP system (SAP)
. Production planning or scheduling experience
. Experience of database use and reporting
. Inventory control and management experience
